Thanks, but I can't seem to get this to work? I open the game, and I just get the 'game application has stopped working' message. I've downloaded three time, same problem. Any ideas?
You can just Force Re-Check the torrent if you think that you have corrupted files, no need to download more than once.
Same thing happened to me when I tried it on an old PC with Intel Graphics and I wasn’t able to make it work. Probably something incompatible or something missing. Not sure if Intel Graphics is the problem though. It’s wasn't an error message created by the game, so it could mean anything. I don’t have any problems on my PC.

Hi, I download this novel from you, but every time I start the game it's so slow is impossible to play. I tried changing some things in "configuration" but that didn't work. Also, I saw the requirements and it's like any other novel out there, any computer could run it.
So I was wondering if you know what could be happening for it to be so slow. Thanks in advance
I don't really understand what you mean by slow, but if you're talking about the intro it's slow and you have to wait. I didn't find a way to skip it. Not sure if it's possible.
I don't know what happened but just know I started the novel again and is normal.
What I meant was that the menus, the clicks, even the text was slow. For example, the system tabs, save, load or sound were so slow that changing between them took a lot of seconds and even loading a save file or the transitions between the messages was longer than normal.
In any case, looks like the problem resolved itself. The only thing I can think of is that turning off the computer was the solution because I didn't do anything else.

Hi, I downloaded lots of good stuff from you but somehow I can't get this to run. Have been playing various visual novels for quite some time now so I believe I have most of the basic things down. It seems that the app runs on the task manager but nothing ever displays even if I wait for quite some time. No error pop-ups or anything, just nothing happens.

Could be a program running in the background preventing the VN from starting. Restart and try closing everything you can.
Not sure if it'll help at all in your case, but you can try moving the game folder to another local disk or the root directory and run as admin.
For those Who are having problems.
Try Moving the Game Folder From one drive to another.
Run as administrator.
Change compatibility mode to Xp or windows 7.
Add The game File(.exe) to DEP Exception List.

Just got back now, I tried placing it on both drive's root but the problem still persists. I even tried downloading a fresh copy just to be sure as well
You don't need to download fresh copy. All you need to do is Force Re-Check the torrent if you think that you have corrupted files. You tried turning off anti virus program, skype, torrent client, etc. etc. and and everything else possible, and then starting the game?
@superelmo, Same issue here. The game works and the movie works but instead of the movie playing after the prologue there is a white screen.
I do have the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. Is it possible that the movies should not be in a separate folder?
OK, then try removing folder movie from the game folder. If the movie is still not playing then remove both, folder movie and the file movie.pac. It should skip the movie and you’ll be able to continue playing. You can still watch it on your video player. Just play the files in folder movie. The files in folder movie are better quality and they overwrite the ones in the movie.pac archive. Probably the reason why some people have problems.
The movie is playing for me without problems even though I didn't check "play WMV movies". No way for me to find that it was the solution, haha. Thanks!
Yeah nothing else is running in the background. It's just weird that when I opened it multiple times, there's also multiple instances of it in the task manager but not one of them properly runs
Sorry, no idea what else could be the problem. Could be hardware or software incompatibility, something you installed before, something missing, like OS or driver updates... There's a thread on Steam you can follow by a user with the same issue, but no one responded, at least for now.
Alright it's okay I don't really have a clue what's causing this as well since every other VN i played so far worked without any problems

@mpg13 Maybe when you installed k-lite it didn't have Windows Media Video checked to use LAV Video. May wanna re-check just in case.
@insani Tried renaming the folder to just be "Witch" no spaces whatsoever or something. May also be something the Windows Update causing the issue for this game. Try a Windows Virtual Machine and see if it works in that environment. If it works that'll confirm it's something at your end that's causing it. Do you have like a anti-virus program that checks for files as they are executed? It may need to white list it so it can go through.
@JoshB2084, You shouldn't be surprised. Win 7 was the last real Windows OS. After that is corporate spyware with some bells and whistles to make it palatable.
@noZA_ I tried renaming but still the same issue. Hmm, I actually don't have anything other than win defender running and malware bytes. I havent tried that win virtual machine for quite some time so I dont know where to start. Currently playing Hoshi Ori Mirai for now but would like to play this too someday if I get it to work D:
@JoshB2084 You can still use Windows 7 SP1 with AMD Ryzen. I'm using that right now on my 2nd gen Ryzen 5 with no issues. AMD is still providing Windows 7 support but for 64 bit which everybody should use. I'll be sticking with this OS till web browsers stop supporting it then I'd have no choice but to get that SpyOS and have to block Windows Update and all that telemetry.
@insani Microsoft provides one for free. If you use that together with a tutorial over at YouTube you should be good to go on troubleshooting. Also, see if creating another user profile on your OS just to see if it runs. If it does consider moving all files (including some on AppData, save all your browser stuff including the program itself in another folder and other programs that are attached to your user profile only) to your public folders then once you're done use login to that newly created user profile and delete your old one, then restart, then recreate that profile again and move your files back. I've done this myself a few times. It's a hassle but resolves a lot of things.
If all that don't work not sure what else I can do but running that VM should give you your answers that it's something on your end that's causing it.
@noZA_ Alright thanks for all the help! I'll try it sometime after I have finished playing Hoshi and observation, and then maybe Id get a chance to make this work haha
