Yuina means well, but her way of showing affection is becoming as much of a strain on the relationship as it is on their mutual piggy-bank. Can Chika get through to her beloved and save the romance? Tags: vanilla, yuri, tomboy, tsundere, stockings, uncensored, glasses, hentai, lingerie, office lady, cunnilingus, pubic hair, masturbation, doujin, bunny girl, ponytail, fingering --- This release is being used to test a new image coding system: JPEG XL. JPEG XL's lossy mode provides equal quality to JPEG at 60% smaller file sizes, and its lossless mode enables file sizes 35% smaller on average compared to PNG (incidentally, manga seems to compress much better than average: using -q 100 -s 9 -E 3, I attained a better than 56% size reduction on the Mira doujins I've tested, compared to PNG.) It has a bevy of other features too, including alpha channel support, animation, progressive decoding, and high bit depths (up to 32-bit [float] per channel), and image dimensions that cap at 1,073,741,823 x 1,073,741,824 pixels. Most of that isn't relevant to manga, but it's still quite cool. It also has a special feature: the ability to losslessly recompress existing JPEG files, to reduce file sizes another ~20%; the old JPEGs can even be perfectly recreated from the JPEG XL files produced in this way! JPEG XL is totally capable of perfectly replacing JPEG, GIF, PNG, and WebP! Here are some links to get started: Sample results for lossless compression: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ju4q1WkaXT7WoxZINmQpf4ElgMD2VMlqeDN2DuZ6yJ8/edit#gid=1919028011 Source code: https://gitlab.com/wg1/jpeg-xl Specification document: https://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1908/1908.03565.pdf Official website: https://jpeg.org/jpegxl/ A precompiled windows binary: https://files.catbox.moe/a00fhq.7z Discord server (click the image tab): https://discord.gg/HSBxne3 In the linked zip file with the binaries, cjxl.exe can be used to convert files to JPEG XL, and djxl.exe can be used to decode JPEG XL files, and export as a different format. You can use -h -v to get information about the functions of the binaries. If you want to batch convert lots of PNG files to JPEG XL, here is a suggestion for how to do so: Move the PNG files into the folder where cjxl.exe is located, click on the Windows Explorer address bar (when you are in that folder) and type 'cmd' (without the quotes) and hit 'ENTER' on your keyboard. Then use the following command: for %i in (D:\jpeg-xl\*.png) do cjxl "%i" "%i.jxl" -q 100 -s 9 -E 3 Set the location in the brackets to wherever your binary and PNG files are. You may also visit 'https://squoosh.app/' to work with JPEG XL files, as well as other formats, and to convert between them.

If you’re gonna use a release to test a new format, would you be so kind as to also post the original PNGs? Thanks.
Please consider uploading the original PNG files too, both for this and your other Mira torrent. A link in the description would suffice, I'm not asking to take down your torrents. Thanks and happy new year.
@Keigo_Kakiguchi I highly doubt they would do that. The entire purpose of this (and the last) release seems to be to try to get people interested in JPEG XL. I highly suspect that this will fail, just like JPEG 2000 did years ago (as well as all of the other JPEG variants out there), but it remains to be seen. I didn't bother running any analysis on this particular release, but did on the last one, and I suspect that the reason this is compressing well with JPEG XL compared to the conversions back to PNG is that there seems to be a color component in virtually every pixel (ie: the red, green, and blue values are not the same - I saw values like 221/222/225 for R/G/B on most of the pixels - just barely different, but enough to be significant), causing the PNG to be forced into 24-bit mode, instead of PNG-8 like manga usually is. I have my doubts as to if this release is actually losslessly converted from the original PNGs due to the presence of this color component, so maybe the original uploader could confirm if this color component exists in the original PNGs, or provide some proof or evidence that these JPEG XL files are in fact pixel-perfect to the originals? Just to save everyone else the effort, here's a copy converted back to PNG with the provided djxl.exe, and then run through optipng; assuming these JPEG-XL files are in fact lossless, this should be a lossless equivilant of the original files: https://pixeldrain.com/u/9btLMHH1

Both releases were losslessly converted from the PNG Fakku releases. Regarding 24bit, that is how the Fakku PNGs were. Please see attached for evidence: https://files.catbox.moe/4lw92a.zip I guarantee that I didn't screw up either release. I used command -q 100 -s 9 -E 3, which produces lossless conversions. PNG is well over twenty years old. You shouldn't be surprised that better compression tech exists.
@eeeeeeeee2000 Consumers does not even notice that it compressed by better(or not so better but new) technology if it supported. For now it is dead one before even born. @AtomicRobot look for viewers that support opening archives with images inside. Ask developers when they will add format support. You can't popularize something by doing releases that all people just convert to png for viewing. Cons for using this format 10% difference in size and 10-20x more time to decode.

@qanatozp Wrong. Check the screencaps of the Fakku download prompts in that zip I linked. JPEG XL cuts file size by more than half.
@AtomicRobot The fact is, literally nobody reading this is going to give a shit. It's not the 1990s - nobody is going to miss a few dozen megabytes of disk space. The only people who _might_ care would be people running large Internet sites where bandwidth is a major concern... but even then, they're not going to be comparing this to JPEG or PNG, they'd be comparing it to WebP, since anyone who would benefit from this is already using WebP today. For comparison, I ran the first two images in this release through cwebp. To compare: 001 is 2675009 bytes as JPEG XL, vs 3722396 bytes as WebP. 002 is 951807 bytes as JPEG XL, vs 1371942 bytes as WebP. So there are certainly some savings with the new format, but just like you haven't seen WebP get any adoption outside of web readers, I think you'll see the same thing happen here - fact is, manga is so small that nobody gives a shit about some small file size savings on their hard drive, and compatibility matters more.
@AtomicRobot What wrong in saying that this one not so good and slow like hell? In term of usability and support PNG8 is significantly better. @eeeeeeeee2000 This one support WebP https://en.bandisoft.com/honeyview/
Honest question: Is there a reader that can use the files as is without without converting the files? If not than this seems like a waste of time if I need to convert the files back to make them useful at all
but why jpeg XL though, even though it's much superior on paper most of the people prefer png as it's generic there's a reason why it's still popular despite having better options also just use png gauntlet or pngout both uses a decent compression without losing quality , the big ones out there uses both of these why try an unstable one ? unless you want to make a new alternative than those two. and yes most of the people here have storage to spare.
Well that sucks, I thought you would be sane enough to also provide original files at some point. Another encoder that outputs smaller files? How nice. And it's lossy? Who would've though. No, without wide support from client applications it won't work. What's funny is that official page https://jpeg.org/jpegxl/index.html claims "JPEG XL encoders can produce a backwards-compatible JPEG file" and "file remains decodable by a legacy JPEG decoder", which turns out to be a lie. Someone under previous torrent said that the difference between optimized lossless PNG and JXL is only 15%. You don't compare to pingo output when you say "JPEG XL cuts file size by more than half". If it gives considerably better results in lossless mode I'm in, but it still doesn't mean I'm going to support releases that can't be viewed as is by most applications. Might be a better idea to ask to include JXL algos into RAR5 format instead, so it could shrink the size of JPEG files better.
@genl People who bought some stuff usually don't want to share it for free. Some people like to see how other suffer trying that for free(you may remember some fun video with money glued to floor captured with hidden camera) for /r %%F in (*.jxl) do djxl "%%~nF.jxl" "%%~nF.png" del *.jxl
@qanatozp [PNG > lossy JXL > PNG] should not be considered a good enough way.
reading porn in 2021 is so complicated

@genl I haven't uploaded lossy files you absolute retard. And that person from the previous torrent never shared those alleged results that supposedly came within 15% of JXL using PNG. I'm gonna say right now that's because he never did make such a thing. The ZIP with PNGs that FAKKU provides for download is over 119 MBs in size. Maybe he could shave 6 - 10% off of that with something like Pingo + ECT, but no fucking way did he get it down to 64 MB.
@atomicrobot aside from jxl, any more fun ideas to make things difficult? I want to join in as well.
@wolfdale123 You can compress by different archive types including exotic ones with ultra presets and encryption with password. The more archives inside archive the better/ Do this for every pages separately with different passwords that you can read after extracting that archive. Use parts for one page and compress it in different chunk incremented with another parts. //This is a joke ofc
@AtomicRobot surely insults will get you very far. Nevertheless, provided previous torrent was encoded losslessly, I got it down to 64 mb in PNG too, by converting b/w pages to greyscale. Which, albeit lossy, is a fair thing to do and a much smarter thing to do than using JPEG-XL. From the very start you did not provide original files. So to confirm that you encoded the files losslessly we'll need someone else to provide the PNG version. Even if it ends up being indeed lossless, it won't make it practical. At this point you are using it as an archive container (a slow one), not an image format.
well this is stupid, time to filter out this guy. he clearly would never upload the original files. this is worst than the OT fights op clearly on a spectrum, someone make a torrent from this, or dont. dont care https://files.catbox.moe/xyx1y6.zip https://files.catbox.moe/lhnlx1.zip
Fuck You! You're like the remnants of cum dripping down from a dick that has gangrene but you're hanging from the gangrenous dick that's 2020!
Thanks for buying and uploading this. Let's pray for China to come out with a new virus that'll wipe out leechers like arefin0991. Chinese Virus 2021! Woohoo!
@ultimaonlineplayer Are you sure about that? China was first to acknowledge virus but not first victim. What are you doing here if you hate leechers? I have had covid 3 times already. First and third time was heavy - I thought about dying. First time was at September of 2019. You don't need new virus because you can catch it many times 1 or 2 times in a year. PS. I'm not Chinese.
Okay, that is cool and all. But my apps seem to not capable of opening jpeg xl.
@oneloliman Use djxl.exe from this precompiled windows binary batch: https://files.catbox.moe/a00fhq.7z Run this bat file within folder with jxl: for /r %%F in (*.jxl) do djxl “%%~nF.jxl” "%%~nF.png" del *.jxl
@qanatozp haha, thanks a lot. It's not converted but the jxl entire files are deleted instead and I don't have to deal with them anymore. Now this is actually a solution.
@oneloliman Lol, it should convert. You need to put djxl.exe in folder with bat file.
https://pixeldrain.com/u/AJHKNZCS Here's this as PNGs, all checksums should match to the untouched originals. Thanks to sdgfjuyuire for providing checksums/filesizes of the untouched originals for verification.
Yup, 3 years and jpegxl is dead instead of the mainstream picture format of the f̶u̶t̶u̶r̶e present.
