Even with VPN Japanese IP I'm getting a 403 error. Is it possible to reuse charas from older Koikatsu? It didn't work when i just copied the charas.

### Potatoes yeah, I figured... they added a new layer of security to it. Rather, they abused a accessibility feature in modern web browsers to discriminate, not cool illusion. Here's the deal. When you visit a website, the browser informs the website what language the browser is configured to use, so that the website can make the experience smoother across borders. Illusion took that and said: Your browser is not japanese, get off my lawn. Simple fix at least. Either download another japanese browser (like the jp firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/ja/firefox/new/?redirect_source=firefox-com) or just reconfigure your browser to identify as japanese. (also need VPN ofc to access) To budding security researchers out there, this is why you don't apply security through obfuscation, it leaves telltale signs as to what is happening, and a third party can catch that and identify what is being utilized, and move on to mitigate it. Ohh I see, I have encountered website blocks via user agent like all linux browsers but never really thought about language of browser. Just switching browser language in settings + vpn worked well and i can access it now! Huge Thanks! So this must also be why the preview videos before release never loaded for me even though the website itself loaded fine.

I'm quite liking what I've played of sunshine at this point, and seems that's the general consensus, so as quick as studio drops and all the essential mods are ported over, I suspect the original Koikatsu will start a decline in popularity. It still has a special place for me, so intend to keep it alive after that point as well, though further lowered in priority. and yeah, as Masamune and onizukaftw said, it's a sequel, basically Koikatsu 2. Optimization still leaves a little sumtin sumtin to be desired, but all over, a good outing. ### Xynnz Do enjoy \o/

as someone who's new to Koikatsu and isn't interested in studio or VR mode, would you recommend starting out with this or rather checking out your Koikatsu! RX11 first? I reckon the older game is in a better situation in regards to translation or is it all machine translated?

### Holly OK, here's the deal. Koikatsu has been around since May 2018. It has had a LOOOOOOOOOONG time getting everything in place, including a very good part of translations etc. I got a translator that has been working on handtranslation for Koikatsu for like a bit over a year at this point, and translations for a lot of what remains are covered by the official translation, it has LOOOOOADS of mods and it's quite optimized with fixes via mods. No matter what, it will take some time for KKS to get to that point, though mods seem relatively easily ported, and parts of the translation can straight up be reused. The main game in the original Koikatsu might be a bit... repetative, but it's surprisingly fun to follow along the storyline for the different personality types now that translations are rather decent. Meanwhile, Koikatsu Sunshine is under a week old, currently in progress of getting basic stuffs in place, and my translator is still doing prepwork to start translating, so... might be good waiting if you have yet to play the original, do give that a spin for the time being. spesifically at translation, the original is in a very good state with the majority handtranslated either by my translator or from the official translation. A bit ranty, but I got feelings on the topic >.< ### AkaneHaruka I hear there's a savefile for that floating around, but not tested it yet. if there is, I'll bundle it in R1.2, take a look at the changelog when it drops to see if it got added >) Also, would guess that Marcos cheattools would drop sooner rather than later

How long would you say the original would take to get thru the whole story? I've actually been wanting to give it a spin for a while now that the translations are good, and I feel like now might be the perfect time while we wait for KKS to get better.

### pixellust been ages since I played through the main main story of KK (well, if you can call it that. You can talk to and follow the storylines of like 5 characters. last time I did so was back in 2018 or so), so can't really give an estimate. The single personality stories (out of which there are like 30), depending on reading speed and stuff like that... an hour, hour and a half to go through their relationship and related stuff (really shallow stuffs) and then their dating which is quite enjoyable I find, though doesn't really branch much, so mostly just reading a story with some H-scenes thrown in for good measure. I test new translations very often, so tend to basically speedrun it and get that outta the way in like 15-20 mins per character so... Thing with Koikatsu is that it's very much a social simulation, though rather shallow at that, for the main game. A shallow social simulation is good for just kinda chilling for an hour or so, but doesn't lend itself well to longevity. Longevity comes from the following: - Industry leading character maker - User friendly and accessible studio (yes, it's user friendly, trust me, it just looks kinda scary first time you see it)

@Potatoes: yes, you can. just copy them and put them into Koikatu Sunshine's chara folder. the game will auto converse them. when you restart the game.

@boneknocker Thanks! I was copying them while chara maker was running since it seemed to auto refresh and then I deleted them when it didn't work. Restarting game worked perfectly!

Thanks a lot for this! I like it so far. Positives: A big improvement on Koikatsu in terms of base (laying down) positions. Quite a lot of them, lots of variation and nice animations. New H voice lines for all of the personalities, I assume. The ones I've tried out (Big Sisterly, Quiet and Timid) all have new voice lines (even for insertion) and moans in general during H except for when in Horny state, which is the same as in Koikatsu. New menu sound effects. The old ones weren't bad or anything, but I was getting tired of hearing the same jingles almost every game. So it's nice with something new. Music is good, and the island in general is very nice. Negatives: Positions menu is very cluttered. There is that orange exclamation mark to indicate when it will move you, but still immensely cluttered. Lack of new chair, desk and wall positions. This is something I've noticed with Illusion. They'll prioritize something and then leave everything else the same. In this case that would be laying positions (on bed, floor etc), whereas chair, desk and wall positions are exactly the same as in the first game. I would've liked to see the same kind of variation that laying has with chairs, desks and walls. Would've really liked a position similar to the school rooftop fence ekiben for walls, for example. A bit of a shame. Unless I'm missing something and they'll add more positions for chairs, desks and walls later. Just a quick question. Can you H the tour guide? Maxed her out but there's no option beyond that, so I just assumed I can't. I figured it would be something akin to Sitri from Honey Select. Looking forward to R2 with great anticipation!

@Jidgeeboy : after her love bar become gold. if you talk to her she will tell you the location of rare item (aka a topic). go to that location pick up items them come back talk to her again. if success, player will ask her who she love right now then she will try to dodge the question and end the conversation. the next time you come back to her. your lovely H icon will be there.

@Jidgeeboy if you check this game h-scene from their website. there are many h-positions that still missing and no one know how access or unlock them. such as special h-position at tennis court.

@screwthisnoise Oh believe me I know all about the longevity of studio. That's what I've been doing since the game came out and why I still haven't touched the story lol
